Hyundai Secures Five Spots on 2026 American-Made Index

Five Hyundai SUV models have earned a place on the 2026 Cars.com American-Made Index, marking the second consecutive year the automaker has achieved this milestone. The recognition highlights the company’s expanding domestic production footprint, as the brand continues to localize its portfolio through significant investments in its Alabama and Georgia manufacturing facilities.

The rankings, which evaluated over 400 model-year 2026 vehicles, assessed criteria ranging from final assembly locations and domestic part percentages to the origin of engines and transmissions. Hyundai’s presence on the list is anchored by its two primary U.S. hubs: Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama and the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America in Georgia.

The IONIQ 5 led the brand’s performance, securing the 21st position, followed by the Santa Cruz at 24th, the Tucson at 31st, the Santa Fe at 33rd, and the Santa Fe Hybrid at 81st. According to Patrick Masterson, lead researcher for the index, all five qualifying models improved their standing compared to the previous year. This upward momentum reflects the automaker’s ongoing $26 billion commitment to U.S. operations through 2028.

Randy Parker, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor North America, noted that the index results serve as a benchmark for consumer transparency regarding domestic manufacturing. By focusing on southern production facilities, the company aims to align its supply chain more closely with American buyer demand while reinforcing its support for local economies.
