Nextlink, which already manages a massive infrastructure spanning 12 states, is integrating Aviat’s high-performance systems to meet strict federal deployment requirements. This move follows the recent activation of the company’s first BEAD-funded wireless tower, a milestone in a broader strategy that includes $429.2 million in previous support from the FCC’s Rural Digital Opportunity Fund. By utilizing Aviat’s specialized wireless transport, Nextlink aims to reduce the total cost of ownership while maintaining a rapid deployment schedule across its footprint.
Cameron Kilton, Chief Technology Officer at Nextlink, emphasized that the partnership is essential to keeping the network expansion on track. For Aviat Networks, the deal reinforces its position as a primary technology supplier for providers navigating federal broadband initiatives. Nextlink currently operates over 2,600 towers and serves more than 100,000 subscribers, with a portfolio that includes critical CBRS Priority Access Licenses.
