Sumsub Automates Compliance Workflows via AI Agent Integration

London-based verification firm Sumsub has launched a Model Context Protocol integration, enabling AI agents like ChatGPT and Claude to configure compliance environments directly. By translating AML policy documents into live platform settings, the company aims to reduce manual setup time from days to mere minutes.

The integration allows compliance teams to upload regulatory requirements or AML policies to an AI agent, which then automatically generates verification levels, risk questionnaires, and onboarding workflows within the Sumsub dashboard. Beyond initial configuration, these agents can assist with technical implementation by writing code to embed verification steps into applications, as well as managing daily tasks like applicant reviews, analytics, and responses to regulatory shifts.

This shift moves the industry away from manual setup processes previously managed by technical architects. According to Andrew Novoselsky, Chief Product Officer at Sumsub, connecting AI agents directly to the platform’s configuration layer fundamentally alters how compliance infrastructure is built and maintained. To ensure security, the integration operates within an isolated sandbox, requiring human review and approval for all configuration changes. The company has released its agent skills as open-source tools on GitHub and has secured a listing on the ChatGPT Apps platform to facilitate broader adoption.
