Montreal-based Gould Industries expands into Mississippi

The Mississippi plant sits on 6 acres and features a CN railway siding capable of handling 30 railcars. With the Montreal headquarters operating at full capacity, this expansion allows Gould Industries to push toward an annual production potential of 80 million pounds of product and 10 million pounds of recycled plastic. The facility will source materials exclusively from U.S. suppliers to support a regional circular economy.

CEO Frederico Panetta described the acquisition as a natural extension of historic trade corridors linking Quebec to the American South. The company plans to modernize the site and implement internal culture programs, including workspace improvements and a mural to reflect the brand's identity. The investment secures a combined workforce of 150 employees across both countries. Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves has publicly backed the entry of the third-generation, family-owned firm, which was founded in 1954. The cross-border transaction was structured with support from CIBC and EDC.
