SmartSens Expands Automotive Vision Portfolio at AutoSens USA 2026

Detroit’s Huntington Place became the epicenter for next-generation vehicle perception this June, as SmartSens debuted a comprehensive suite of automotive-grade sensors. The exhibition showcased a shift toward integrated vision systems, pairing high-resolution CMOS technology with specialized processing chips to redefine ADAS, surround-view, and in-cabin safety capabilities.

The showcase highlighted the SC860AT, an 8.3MP automotive-grade sensor that, when paired with the Flyingchip M1 processor, offers enhanced environmental perception for front-view ADAS applications. For parking and navigation, the company demonstrated a 360-degree surround-view system built around the 3MP SC360AT sensor, aimed at reducing blind spots in tight maneuvers.

Inside the vehicle, SmartSens focused on occupant safety and driver behavior. The new OMS platform utilizes the 5MP SC533AT sensor to track passenger positioning and monitor for forgotten children or pets. Complementing this, the SC233AT global shutter sensor serves as a dedicated driver monitoring solution, tracking alertness to mitigate risks from distraction. Wang Xiaoyong, General Manager of SmartSens USA, emphasized this "CIS + AI SoC" strategy during his keynote, signaling a shift toward more intelligent, self-contained vision units. The company also confirmed that Flyingchip is preparing to launch the M2, a next-generation automotive ISP chip designed to provide the processing power required for advanced automated driving systems.
