Six Universities Honored at 2026 Eduventures Innovation Summit

Six higher education institutions received recognition at the 2026 Eduventures Research Innovation Awards in Chicago, highlighting breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, recruitment strategies, and student success. The annual program identifies colleges that have integrated data-driven initiatives directly into their core operational models to address modern academic challenges.

The award winners, announced by Encoura executives Todd Boullion and Brittany Leiva, represent a diverse range of institutional responses to the evolving demands of higher education. Claremont Graduate University earned top honors in the Excellence in AI category for its human-centered approach to competency intelligence. In the realm of recruitment, Georgia State University was recognized for its data-informed yield marketing, while Southeastern Louisiana University received an award for its focus on dual enrollment as a primary pipeline for new students.

Additional honorees included the University of Maryland Global Campus, which was cited for its policy of awarding academic credit based on military rank, and Metropolitan State University of Denver, noted for its work in connecting first-generation students with industry professionals. The University of Cambridge was also recognized for its "Learning by Doing" pedagogical framework in undergraduate economics. According to Cara Quackenbush, Executive Vice President of Eduventures Research, these institutions demonstrate the impact of embedding innovation into the fundamental operations of a university rather than treating it as a peripheral project.
