Grain Management Merges Ritter and Great Plains into Rightfiber

Grain Management is consolidating its portfolio companies, Ritter Communications and Great Plains Communications, into a single entity branded as Rightfiber. The merger creates one of the largest privately held fiber broadband platforms in the United States, spanning 20 states and a 28,000-mile regional network.

The new organization brings together two providers with over a century of experience each. Heath Simpson, currently the CEO of Ritter Communications, will lead the combined company as CEO, while Great Plains CEO Todd Foje transitions into the role of Executive Chairman. This strategic shift aims to unify their infrastructure and resources to accelerate the deployment of high-speed fiber across 400 communities.

Rightfiber will oversee a footprint serving 300,000 homes and businesses. According to Simpson, the merger builds on the existing strengths of both firms to capture new growth opportunities while maintaining the local relationships that defined their individual operations. The transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals, though both leadership teams emphasize that current service levels and community investment commitments will remain consistent during the transition.
