Greenberg Traurig Adds Curtis Leitner to New York Litigation Team

Curtis Leitner has joined the New York office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig as a shareholder, moving from McCarter & English to bolster the firm’s litigation bench. He brings nearly two decades of experience handling complex commercial disputes, government investigations, and white-collar defense for a diverse array of institutional and individual clients.

Leitner’s practice spans high-stakes litigation, including contract disputes, capital raises, and employment matters. His background includes a significant tenure at Morvillo Abramowitz Grand Iason & Anello, where he spent nearly 13 years defending clients against enforcement actions from agencies such as the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. He regularly appears in both federal and state courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings.

Richard A. Edlin, vice chair of Greenberg Traurig, noted that Leitner’s arrival supports the firm's strategy to meet increasing demand for aggressive courtroom advocacy. New York co-managing shareholders Ejim Peter Achi and Scott J. Bornstein emphasized that his arrival strengthens the firm's trial capabilities. Leitner cited Greenberg Traurig’s national platform and its reputation for handling high-stakes cases as the primary drivers for his move, noting his intent to collaborate across the firm’s global network.
