Raven Resonance Unveils Raven Prism, a Linux-Powered Ambient Computer

At the Augmented World Expo 2026 in Long Beach, Raven Resonance is debuting Raven Prism, a wearable computer disguised as premium prescription eyewear. Eschewing the typical smartphone-tethered model, the device functions as an independent, eye-controlled Linux machine designed to deliver contextual information without pulling focus from the physical environment.

The Raven Prism operates on RavenOS, a custom Linux-based platform built for hands-free navigation. Powered by a quad-core 64-bit ARM processor, the headset allows users to interact with applications through a combination of voice commands and gaze-based input. Its display utilizes a full-color LCoS waveguide system, creating a virtual viewing experience that mimics a 16-inch monitor while maintaining peripheral awareness. Unlike standard smart glasses, this hardware supports native ARM64 applications and provides developers with low-level system access.

To address the limitations of battery life in wearable tech, Raven Resonance introduced Raven Wings. These hot-swappable modules allow users to exchange power sources without interrupting system state or closing applications. Beyond energy, these modules are engineered to serve as expansion ports for future hardware upgrades. CEO Thomas Suarez emphasizes that the device is built as an open computing platform, aiming to shift personal technology away from desks and pockets into a constant, ambient presence.

Security is integrated into the device’s physical architecture rather than relying solely on software policies. The Prism includes a manual camera shutter and the Beakon visibility system, which uses illuminated indicators to signal when the camera is active. By prioritizing local processing for eye-tracking and AI functions, the company aims to minimize reliance on cloud infrastructure. Raven Resonance plans a full commercial launch later in 2026, with pricing and developer program details expected to follow.
