The new Driver ID Validation feature functions within the existing Opendock check-in flow. Drivers verify their identity by scanning a government-issued document via a QR code or site tablet. The system offers configurable security tiers, ranging from basic document format checks to real-time facial recognition that compares a live photo against the ID. Once a driver is verified, the system saves their profile, accelerating subsequent visits through a simple face scan.
To complete the gate cycle, Opendock introduced digital Bill of Lading (BOL) signing. Following loading or unloading, drivers review and sign documents electronically on their own devices or facility tablets. For warehouses using a Warehouse Management System (WMS), the process is fully automated via API, allowing documents to be pushed and retrieved without human oversight. Major users like Scotts Miracle-Gro have already implemented this integrated flow across multiple locations to streamline operations. While the digital BOL signing is included for existing Gate Management customers, the ID validation tool is available as an optional paid add-on.
