The inaugural broadcast for the network is scheduled for June 18 at 9:30 p.m., featuring a tape-delayed matchup between Philadelphia and Boston. This collaboration, negotiated by TBL’s Vinny DiMarco, aligns with the league’s broader strategy to establish a national footprint by embedding itself in major U.S. sports markets.
Unlike traditional boxing promotions that focus exclusively on individual fighters, TBL operates with 12 city-based franchises. Athletes compete across various weight classes in one-round contests, with the ultimate victor decided by cumulative team performance during the final "Money Rounds." Kevin Cassidy, CEO of TBL, noted that the league’s emphasis on grit and competitive intensity mirrors the regional values of Pittsburgh’s sports culture, positioning the deal as a vital bridge to new fan demographics.
