Residence Expands Creative Network with GateMaker Acquisition

Influencer marketing agency GateMaker has joined the Residence creative network, bringing specialized expertise in creator-led media to the Los Angeles-based portfolio. The acquisition, finalized mid-June 2026, integrates GateMaker’s influencer strategy into the nine-company collective backed by Gemspring Capital, though financial terms of the transaction remain undisclosed.

Founded in 2021, GateMaker has established a footprint in the decentralized media landscape by managing influencer programs for brands including Estée Lauder, Starbucks, and Glossier. The agency focuses on building paid, earned, and owned relationships that prioritize cultural relevance over traditional advertising methods. By joining Residence, GateMaker will retain its own branding and leadership team while gaining access to the network's shared resources and cross-company collaboration model.

Ryan Honey, CEO of Residence, cited the agency's ability to scale creator relationships as the primary driver for the partnership. GateMaker co-founders Ashton Wall and Amelia Soohoo noted that the move provides a framework to accelerate their growth while maintaining the agency’s internal culture. This addition bolsters the broader Residence portfolio, which currently includes firms such as BUCK, Giant Ant, and OK COOL, further diversifying the group’s capabilities in digital products, experiential marketing, and social-native content.
