Netflix is pairing Henry Cavill and Kevin Hart for an upcoming, untitled spy action-comedy that thrusts two rival secret agents into an unlikely partnership. Based on a short story by Sean Lewis, the film follows the duo as they navigate espionage and impending fatherhood after their pregnant wives become friends.
The project represents a significant collaboration for the streaming giant, pulling together a creative team that includes producers Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds, with McG attached to direct. The script, written by Adam and Aaron Nee alongside Jonathan Tropper, centers on the clash between the two agents who are forced to cross paths during a Lamaze class while their secret lives unravel. Both lead actors have established themselves as fixtures of the platform’s library. Cavill, known for his work in The Witcher and Enola Holmes, has previously expressed interest in playing a spy-adjacent role, even noting a willingness to portray a Bond villain. Hart, who is also producing the film through his HartBeat banner, continues to anchor Netflix’s feature slate following roles in Lift and The Man From Toronto. The production will be managed by Levy’s 21 Laps and Reynolds’ Maximum Effort banners, signaling a high-priority push for the studio.
