As the nation gears up for its semiquincentennial, the Countdown 250 Ball will host a massive patriotic celebration on July 3, 2026, at the Washington Hilton. The event features legendary musician Lee Greenwood and a midnight ringing of 1,000 bells to mark the eve of America’s 250th birthday.
The evening serves as both a gala and a fundraiser, staged in partnership with the Operation Renewed Hope Foundation to support veterans and military families in securing housing. Guests will navigate seven distinct celebration areas and four stages, featuring immersive historical attractions designed specifically for the milestone anniversary. Beyond the music and cuisine, the program highlights the presentation of the All-American Hero and Icon awards.Honorees include former Senator Elizabeth Dole, Captain Luis Avila, and Lt. Col. (Ret.) Deborah Snyder, alongside entertainers such as Tony Orlando and Bob Anderson. Founder Mike Harrigan describes the event as a deliberate effort to blend historical reflection with a forward-looking spirit. As the clock strikes midnight, attendees will participate in a coordinated tribute by ringing commemorative bells, symbolizing the conclusion of a cross-country journey for the America’s Freedom Bell. Tickets and sponsorship packages remain available for the public, with organizers continuing to accept nominations for individuals who embody the American spirit.
