With a valuation exceeding US$860 million, The Generation Essentials Group (TGE) is aggressively scaling its international hospitality footprint. The firm, a subsidiary of AMTD Digital, has assembled a portfolio of 919 rooms spread across six properties in major financial hubs, spanning four continents and diverse market segments.
The portfolio features a mix of business-centric and lifestyle-focused assets, ranging from the iclub AMTD Sheung Wan Hotel in Hong Kong and the AMTD IDEA KL Hotel in Kuala Lumpur to the AMTD IDEA Tribeca Hotel in New York. The collection also includes apartment-style accommodations, such as Dao by Dorsett AMTD Singapore and AMTD Dao by Dorsett Hornsey in London. While five of these properties carry the AMTD brand, the group also holds a Ritz-Carlton branded asset.Dr. Feridun Hamdullahpur, Co-Chairperson of TGE, noted that the company is pursuing a dual strategy that prioritizes both hospitality management and real estate ownership, including the underlying land. He described the current economic cycle as a compelling window for asset accumulation. The firm aims to establish itself as a premier global hotel operator by leveraging its diversified holdings to capture long-term value appreciation in cosmopolitan urban markets.
