The book, titled Princes and Thieves, asserts that UAE leader Mohamed bin Zayed and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman funneled the funds into accounts for Kushner at the onset of Trump’s first term. According to Cole, the Alpha account at First Abu Dhabi Bank functioned as a foreign policy fund, while the Beta account moved money from Azerbaijan to an Israeli Central Bank account for Kushner’s personal use. Neither account was disclosed on required federal ethics forms.
A prosecutor involved in the Robert Mueller investigation noted that these arrangements could constitute federal bribery violations if the funds were tied to political favors. Kushner responded via social media, calling the allegations categorically false and labeling the book a work of fantasy. Meanwhile, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington has filed a lawsuit to block Kushner from his current foreign policy role, citing concerns over his lack of Senate confirmation and these ongoing financial questions.
