Cosimo Scarano, head of the Foundation, noted that the initial vision remains central to their operations: inspiring individuals to grow, cook, and consume food with a lower environmental impact. Electrolux Group CEO Yannick Fierling emphasized that the foundation was established as a direct extension of the company’s corporate responsibility, viewing the home appliance sector as a key driver for societal change regarding food consumption.
The organization’s impact over the last ten years is defined by several key metrics. The "Like a Chef" program has provided free culinary training to over 1,900 people, equipping them with zero-waste cooking skills to enter the labor market. Additionally, the Foundation has donated over 3.6 million meals worldwide, bolstered by a 2026 collaboration with the UN World Food Programme. Its Food Heroes initiative has reached 500,000 participants with education on sustainable eating, setting a target to double that figure by 2030. These efforts are supported by a global curriculum that has trained 20,000 chefs and reached an estimated 238 million people through awareness campaigns. As of World Food Day 2026, the Foundation continues to scale its activities, with volunteers in 32 countries currently participating in local outreach programs.
