The expansion places the off-price retailer directly into the Union Square neighborhood, within a building managed by Invesco Real Estate. Co-CEO Erik Nordstrom noted the company’s long-standing history in the city, citing the recent momentum in downtown development as a primary driver for the return. The store will offer discounted apparel, beauty products, and home goods, while serving as a hub for online order pickups and returns for both Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack digital platforms.
Mayor Daniel Lurie framed the move as a validation of his administration's efforts to improve public safety and streamline business regulations. This new site adds to the company's existing California footprint, which already includes 21 full-line Nordstrom stores and 70 Rack locations. The announcement follows the October 2025 launch of a Nordstrom Local in Pacific Heights, further anchoring the retailer’s presence in the Bay Area market.
