The August 10 tremor stands as the most powerful earthquake recorded in the country this century. Damage was severe, forcing the evacuation of numerous clinics and causing the partial collapse of pediatric and neonatal wings at a major hospital in Cali. Project C.U.R.E. intends to utilize its assessment-driven distribution model to match donated medical supplies directly to the specific requirements identified by local providers on the ground.
Dr. Douglas Jackson, President and CEO of the organization, emphasized that the initiative extends beyond immediate crisis management. Since 2004, the nonprofit has delivered nearly $1.8 million in medical equipment to various Colombian regions, including shipments to Riohacha and the Putumayo department. This latest relief effort follows a similar $1.2 million medical aid delivery to Caracas, Venezuela, earlier this year. Donors can contribute to the recovery mission through the organization's dedicated portal at give.projectcure.org/ColombiaAid2026.
