Since the June 11 debut, bStocks—which offer 1:1 tokenized representations of U.S. securities—have generated over $40 billion in cumulative trading volume. While the product began with only five assets, the catalog has expanded to nearly 100, reflecting a broader trend in the tokenization of real-world assets. Data indicates that these tokens are not merely passive holdings; roughly $6 billion has been converted directly between stock positions and tokens, bypassing standard broker wait times.
Shunyet Jan, Head of Exchange and Trading at Binance, noted that the product's utility extends well beyond simple holding. Users are deploying bStocks as collateral in decentralized finance and for margin trading, with borrowing against these holdings increasing 8.4-fold by September. The shift toward round-the-clock liquidity is stark: in July, only 38% of trading volume occurred during traditional U.S. market hours, compared to nearly 90% for conventional equities. This divergence highlights a growing preference for the continuous, on-chain environment that bStocks provide.
