Jing Cheng, Chief Scientific Officer at Yatsen, noted that the record-breaking volume of presentations reflects the collaborative capacity of the group's global R&D ecosystem. The research covered nine distinct fields, ranging from skin neuroscience and computational toxicology to the complexities of the skin microbiome. These findings underpin the technical strategies of Yatsen’s portfolio, including brands like DR.WU, Galénic, Eve Lom, and Perfect Diary.
During the event, R&D Director Yi Deng introduced a novel microbiology testing methodology designed to reduce false negatives and improve accuracy in preservative interference detection. This focus on standard-setting follows years of aggressive investment; the company has funneled over RMB 770 million into research, maintaining an R&D spend exceeding 3% of revenue annually. By mid-2026, the group had secured 282 patent applications and 55 academic publications, anchoring its transition from a regional beauty player to an innovation-driven enterprise.
