A graduate of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, McGahan has built a multifaceted career spanning telemetry, progressive care, and medical-surgical nursing. Beyond her clinical work as a cardiac care coordinator, she has leveraged her frontline expertise to develop mentorship programs and orientation initiatives, consistently advocating for higher standards in patient care.
Her transition into advocacy was sparked by her own experiences with workplace exhaustion. This led to the founding of the Mind Over Matter: Nursing Recovery Summit, a platform designed to help clinicians navigate trauma and professional fatigue. In 2025, she furthered her educational outreach with the release of her book, What Every Nurse Must Know: Telemetry Secrets, intended to bolster the clinical confidence of nursing professionals.
McGahan’s contributions have been recognized with the Woman of Empowerment Award in 2025 and back-to-back Nurse of the Year honors from Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in 2021 and 2022. She attributes her professional trajectory to the influence of mentors Natalie Jordy and Jana England, who helped shape her approach to leadership. Moving forward, she intends to scale her coaching practice, focusing on sustainable career growth for nurses.
