The summit, held during the Global Ultra-Broadband Forum, marked a turning point where security and resilience are now treated as strategic imperatives rather than peripheral upgrades. GSMA Intelligence introduced a new cybersecurity white paper advocating for "Native Security," where protection is embedded directly into hardware design rather than applied as a layer after deployment. This shift addresses the reality that AI has fundamentally altered the balance between offensive and defensive capabilities, allowing threats to scale faster than traditional systems can react.
Beyond immediate tactical concerns, the industry is bracing for long-term vulnerabilities, specifically the threat of quantum computing. Bad actors are currently harvesting encrypted data with the intent to decrypt it once quantum technology matures. To counter this, experts are urging carriers to adopt post-quantum cryptography now to ensure future service continuity. Huawei reinforced this transition by showcasing its upgraded NG WAN Solution, while the IPv6 Forum recognized Egypt’s National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority for its leadership in establishing national network resilience policies. These collaborative efforts underscore a consensus: the next generation of intelligent networks must be built on a foundation of absolute reliability to sustain business growth in an increasingly volatile digital landscape.
