Klipboard Marks Half-Century of Industrial Software Evolution

From its 1976 origins as the Kerridge Computer Company to a global operation supporting 55,000 customers, Klipboard celebrates 50 years of business management technology. The company, which began by digitizing niche UK industries, now navigates a landscape defined by artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and advanced data analytics.

The milestone arrives during a period of rapid technological shifts, moving from the early days of personal computing to the current integration of native AI. CEO Ian Bendelow notes that the firm’s longevity is rooted in its ability to adapt alongside its clients in the automotive, distribution, and field service sectors. Operating across 30 global offices, the company has transitioned from basic process management systems to comprehensive ERP solutions that prioritize industry-specific workflows.

Recent investments focus on cloud-based applications and the newly introduced Klipboard Intelligence, which leverages operational data to drive decision-making. As the firm commemorates its history, it intends to focus on the next generation of digital tools, aiming to reduce manual labor and improve visibility for its international client base. The company currently employs 1,600 people across 70 countries, maintaining a strategy of embedding specialized expertise directly into its business management platforms.
