Pimenta joins the company following leadership roles at Ativa Mineração and ORE Investments. His appointment signals a shift in strategy for the site, moving beyond the preliminary economic assessment announced in June 2026. The company intends to refine the deposit's definition through multi-rig drilling, aiming to provide the technical data required for a potential future development decision.
The São Jorge site is situated in the Tapajós gold district, a region known for its granite-hosted mineral systems. GoldMining’s recent economic assessment for the project modeled a 10.6-year mine life with an annual production of 51,250 ounces of gold. By bringing in Pimenta, who previously managed large-scale capital projects for firms including Alcoa World Alumina and Samarco Mineração, GoldMining seeks to stabilize its technical execution as it evaluates the asset's long-term viability.
