The platform automates the labor-intensive construction of financial blueprints by mapping requirements to a company’s live data. Instead of manual line-by-line entry, users define desired outcomes, such as a P&L statement derived from general ledger data. The agent then proposes a structure for review, allowing finance professionals to refine logic or approve the final build before it enters the system. Abacum’s deterministic engine handles the underlying mathematics, ensuring the output maintains the reliability of hand-built models.
Julio Martínez, co-founder and CEO of Abacum, argues that this shift addresses a fundamental resilience problem within corporate finance. By enabling multiple team members to generate, audit, and explain models through natural language, the platform aims to democratize financial expertise. Because the system can explain its own logic, new employees can onboard without needing to reverse-engineer legacy spreadsheets. Modeler is available immediately to existing customers, with plans to expand its capabilities to include complex multi-tab workbook integration later this year.
