Sheraton Universal Debuts Rosa, an AI Concierge for Guest Phones

Guests at the Sheraton Universal Hotel can now access a 24/7 digital concierge by scanning a QR code, bypassing traditional hotel apps or lobby kiosks. Rosa, a "Synth Human" developed by Sizzle, Inc., offers face-to-face video assistance in 33 languages to help navigate both the property and nearby attractions.

The system streamlines hotel operations by handling inquiries about valet, room service, and dining through a mobile interface. By operating directly on a guest's existing device, the hotel avoids the logistical burden of installing dedicated tablets in every room. General Manager Tom Beedon noted that the goal is to remove friction from the guest experience, allowing visitors to spend less time managing logistics and more time enjoying their stay.

Beyond basic hotel services, Rosa leverages Sizzle’s Experience Pass to provide curated recommendations for Universal CityWalk, Universal Studios Hollywood, and other Los Angeles landmarks. According to Russell Cox, the hotel’s owner representative, the technology provides a high-end service layer without requiring a massive hardware investment or intrusive advertising. The virtual host was crafted by Sizzle’s entertainment studio, blending conversational AI with cinematic production to mirror the hotel’s specific service standards. The property will continue to monitor and refine Rosa’s responses, ensuring the digital persona evolves alongside guest feedback and changing operational needs.
