The award will be presented on October 23 during the AOF Honors Gala, coinciding with the American Osteopathic Association’s annual OMED conference in Chicago. Julieanne P. Sees, president of the AOF board, described the surgeon as a treasured mentor who has consistently embodied the values of the osteopathic community throughout his lengthy career.
Dr. Ajluni’s medical journey began at the Chicago College of Osteopathy, followed by specialized training in Mt. Clemens and Detroit, Michigan. Since entering private practice in 1974, he has balanced clinical work at institutions like McLaren Macomb Hospital with high-level advocacy. He has served as president of both the AOF and the AOA, while holding a seat on the board of directors for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. His influence is also deeply personal; at least 30 members of his family, including his son, have pursued careers as osteopathic physicians. AOF CEO Rita Forden noted that his legacy of mentorship continues to shape the next generation of medical professionals.
