The collaboration aims to move businesses beyond static sustainability goals toward verifiable, audit-ready carbon data. By integrating Watershed’s AI platform—which draws on a database of over 3.2 million emissions factors—with EY’s program management, the firms intend to assist clients in navigating tightening regulatory requirements and investor demands for transparency.
Derek Przybylo, leader of the alliance at EY US, noted that the initiative focuses on building scalable solutions that automate reporting processes. Christian Anderson, CEO of Watershed, added that the shift toward AI-driven insights will allow companies to link sustainability metrics directly to operational efficiency. The joint service offering covers the full lifecycle of climate reporting, from initial data collection and product carbon footprinting to strategic decarbonization planning.
