HARTING Joins NVIDIA MGX Ecosystem to Drive AI Data Center Power

As AI compute demands force a shift toward 800 VDC power architectures, industrial connectivity specialist HARTING has joined the NVIDIA MGX ecosystem to supply critical power distribution hardware for the new Vera Rubin NVL72 platform, bridging the gap between building infrastructure and high-density compute racks.

HARTING is deploying specialized power whip cable assemblies designed to manage the transition from 480 VAC to the more efficient 800 VDC systems required by modern AI factories. For the Vera Rubin NVL72 platform, the company is supplying a 100A/480VAC unit for the 110kW power shelf, alongside a next-generation 157A/800 VDC DC-DC cable designed to maintain reliability within increasingly dense server environments.

Philip Harting, CEO of the German-based firm, noted that the company is leveraging its history in high-power environments—ranging from rolling stock to automotive manufacturing—to meet the specific safety and scalability requirements of AI infrastructure. Chief Technology Officer Christian Gysin emphasized that the industry must rethink power distribution from the ground up to support these higher voltage levels.

These connectivity solutions will be showcased at the OCP Global Summit 2026, where HARTING will demonstrate the hardware powering current and future NVIDIA-based AI systems. The company, which reported 1.1 billion euros in sales for the 2024/25 fiscal year, currently employs approximately 6,500 people across its global manufacturing and research sites.
