Haag-Streit and Marco Lombart Unveil Octopus 910 Perimeter at AAO 2026

Thousands of eye care professionals gathered in New Orleans this week for the American Academy of Ophthalmology 2026 meeting, where Haag-Streit USA and Marco Lombart officially debuted the Octopus 910. The full-field projection perimeter aims to modernize glaucoma management through integrated automation and clinical diagnostic tools.

The new device serves as a comprehensive platform for visual field assessment, covering clinical needs from initial diagnosis to end-stage glaucoma. By incorporating features such as Cluster Analysis, Stimulus V testing, and Polar Analysis, the system allows clinicians to perform structure-function comparisons and import legacy HFA data to track disease progression.

Efficiency and reliability drive the design of the hardware. The system automates routine setup tasks—including patient positioning, lens management, and occlusion—to reduce manual error and improve throughput. To ensure consistent data, the unit employs active eye tracking, smart voice guidance, and automated vertex distance monitoring.

"It is an important addition to our Octopus perimetry portfolio, combining comprehensive glaucoma management with smart examination support," said Andrew Jones, VP of Sales and Marketing at Haag-Streit USA. Following the U.S. introduction at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, the company plans to initiate a global rollout of the technology in January 2027. Marco Lombart, the exclusive U.S. distributor for the line, will manage the nationwide deployment, training, and ongoing service support for practices adopting the platform.
