The company, currently the third-largest fiber broadband builder in the United States, is positioning the move as a baseline improvement for home connectivity. By integrating the latest WiFi generation, Brightspeed intends to reduce latency and improve network stability for households juggling simultaneous streaming, gaming, and remote work sessions. Marge Jackson, president and chief marketing officer of Consumer Fiber, stated that the decision reflects a shift toward making high-performance equipment accessible rather than limiting it to high-cost plans.
WiFi 7 offers distinct technical advantages over previous standards, including doubled potential speeds, the ability to utilize multiple frequency bands at once, and enhanced efficiency in crowded network environments. New customers will receive the compatible hardware automatically upon sign-up. Existing subscribers may also qualify for the upgrade; the company encourages these users to verify their eligibility through their online account portal or by contacting customer support. Brightspeed currently operates a network reaching over 2.8 million locations across 20 states.
