The capital injection brings Kapta’s total funding to $30 million. The company aims to replace the prohibitively expensive and complex traditional AESA systems with its proprietary Metamaterial Electronically Scanned Array (MESA) architecture. This software-defined approach is designed to lower manufacturing costs and power requirements, facilitating the deployment of radar technology across large satellite constellations.
Founder and CEO Milton Perque stated that the investment will drive the company through flight qualification and into active orbital missions. By enabling rapid beam steering and scalable apertures, Kapta intends to provide the persistent tracking capabilities necessary for monitoring dynamic threats across land, air, and sea. With the new backing, the company is shifting its focus toward scaling manufacturing capacity and preparing for its inaugural orbital demonstration, a critical step in transitioning from prototype development to full-scale mission support for defense and intelligence customers.
