The ratings reflect consistent gains across clinical quality and member experience metrics. Aetna achieved a notable 4.77-star score for plan readmissions, signaling effective care coordination and stronger provider partnerships. These results also highlight success in preventive care, with scores exceeding 4 stars for both colorectal and breast cancer screenings. Beyond clinical outcomes, the insurer reported high marks for customer service and the resolution of drug plan complaints, scoring 4.29 stars in the latter category.
Steve Nelson, president of Aetna, attributed the results to a focus on operational fundamentals and disciplined execution. The company aims to leverage these ratings to drive further improvements as it navigates the upcoming Medicare Annual Enrollment Period, which begins October 15. While these ratings serve as a benchmark for quality, the company continues to refine its integrated health model to address the needs of its 37 million insurance members nationwide.
