The collaboration introduces a Reading Growth Assessment administered three times annually, providing teachers with a consistent baseline and ongoing progress reports for K-5 students. By layering Lexile measures over existing instructional resources, the platform aims to bridge the gap between static testing and daily classroom decisions. These insights allow educators to project long-term reading development, identify students requiring targeted intervention, and compare individual performance against national cohorts.
Chris Minnich, CEO of MetaMetrics, noted that combining standardized measurement with growth projections helps teachers visualize specific student trajectories rather than isolated performance snapshots. Aaron Ingold, President of ExploreK12, emphasized that the objective is to simplify complex data into actionable steps. By aligning these research-backed scales with Raz-Plus instructional materials, the companies intend to facilitate more personalized learning paths, ensuring that students are matched with reading materials suited to their current proficiency levels.
