The upcoming production draws direct inspiration from the 1970 film directed by Denis Sanders, which chronicled Presley’s summer residency at the property, then known as the International Hotel. By pairing a nine-piece band with nine background vocalists, the show aims to replicate the specific sonic landscape of the documentary, featuring tracks ranging from the high-energy "Suspicious Minds" to the sweeping ballad "Bridge Over Troubled Water."
Dawn Rawle, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Westgate, noted that the performances capture a unique piece of the resort's heritage, maintaining a connection that continues to resonate with fans decades later. Producer Jackie Miranda emphasized that the production seeks to mirror the intensity and humor captured on film, bridging the gap between longtime admirers and new audiences. For Powell, the engagement carries significant weight, as he aims to honor the raw effort Presley invested in these specific performances. Tickets for the 7 p.m. show are currently available through the resort’s box office.
