How PASMAA Is Unifying the Mexican Business Elite in Texas

Five years after emerging from a small gathering of IPADE Business School graduates, the Pan American Senior Management Alumni Association has evolved into a powerhouse for Mexican professionals in the U.S. With nearly 600 members, the organization now bridges the gap between regional commerce and cross-border policy influence.

The network’s rapid expansion reflects a shift in the Texas business landscape, where Mexican founders, CEOs, and investors increasingly seek collective representation. By formalizing alliances with the Consulate General of Mexico in Houston, the Baker Institute for Public Policy at Rice University, and various chambers of commerce, PASMAA has transformed from a private alumni club into a vital institutional player. These partnerships grant members direct access to trade advisers and policy experts, effectively consolidating the influence of the Mexican business community across the state.

Looking toward the October 20 Magisterial Session, the organization is elevating its intellectual profile. The event features former Secretary of Tourism Enrique de la Madrid Cordero and Monex USA chief economist Dr. John Min, signaling a move toward more high-level economic discourse. Board president Jorge Arellano credits this growth to a simple, consistent commitment to peer support in a foreign market. As the association scales, its roadmap includes formal mentorship programs for new arrivals and a strategic push to amplify the presence of Mexican leadership from Austin to Washington, D.C. by 2036.
