Investors File Class Action Against Better Home & Finance Over Stock Drop

A federal securities class action lawsuit has been filed against Better Home & Finance Holding Company following a 28.5% share price collapse on May 7, 2026. The litigation alleges the firm maintained an optimistic $1 billion monthly funded volume target while internal data showed customer conversion rates were already in decline.

The complaint, filed on behalf of shareholders who acquired securities between March 13 and May 7, 2026, claims that Better Home & Finance artificially inflated its market position. While leadership repeatedly reaffirmed aggressive growth targets throughout the spring, the company allegedly withheld news that its conversion funnel was deteriorating due to macroeconomic shifts and geopolitical pressures.

On May 7, the company finally disclosed that its monthly funded volume target would be deferred, citing a significant drop in conversion rates. The market response was immediate and severe, with BETR shares plummeting $12.17 to close at $30.52. Joseph E. Levi, an attorney representing the class, argues that investors bought into a valuation that did not reflect the reality of the company's internal performance metrics. Shareholders seeking to participate in the action must file by November 20, 2026.
