J.S. Held Expands Forensic Accounting Arm with FAC Acquisition

With over 200 court appearances to her credit, Monica Caswell is bringing her Florida-based boutique, Forensic Accountants & Consultants, into the global fold of J.S. Held. The move signals a strategic push to bolster the firm’s litigation support and asset tracing capabilities for high-stakes marital and commercial disputes.

Founded in 2013, FAC built its reputation on navigating complex financial investigations, including contract disputes and business interruption claims. Caswell’s track record spans arbitration proceedings before the ICC and FINRA, as well as specialized engagements for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. By integrating this team, J.S. Held gains a deeper bench for quantifying economic damages and untangling intricate asset portfolios.

This acquisition allows the FAC team to tap into J.S. Held’s wider network, which covers everything from digital assets to forensic technology. For J.S. Held CEO Lee Spirer, the merger is a direct response to the growing demand for specialized financial evidence in legal proceedings. Stephanie Giammarco, who leads the firm’s disputes and valuation practice, noted that the collaboration enables the assembly of multidisciplinary teams tailored to individual case requirements. Caswell cited the firm's cultural alignment and commitment to technical independence as the primary drivers for the transition.
