ChipMOS Hits Record Revenue Driven by AI Memory Demand

ChipMOS Technologies posted record-breaking quarterly revenue of NT$8.4 billion, or US$263.8 million, for the third quarter of 2026. The 36.7% year-over-year surge highlights the company's success in capitalizing on relentless AI-related demand that continues to outstrip the available global memory supply.

The Hsinchu-based semiconductor assembly and test provider reported that its September revenue reached NT$2,792 million, a 33.8% increase compared to the same month last year. This performance reflects a broader trend of expanding demand across the company's memory and storage sectors, which has effectively pushed production capacity to its current limits.

To address these structural supply constraints, ChipMOS is actively deploying new capacity and expanding its physical footprint. These investments are designed to fulfill existing customer forecasts and honor long-term supply agreements. Despite the quarterly growth of 13.8% over the second quarter, the company remains focused on navigating macroeconomic variables, including foreign exchange fluctuations and shifting trade policies, to maintain its trajectory in the competitive OSAT market.
