The selection committee reviewed a record number of entries, highlighting projects that prioritize operational efficiency and enhanced customer journeys. Notable contenders include Bodycare, which is leveraging a partnership with PMC to fuel a rapid store opening program, and Dunelm, which has successfully integrated a bespoke self-checkout system across 85% of its estate using the Enactor platform. Paul Smith also earned recognition for its international rollout of a unified commerce platform, enabling staff to process transactions anywhere on the sales floor.
Technological transformation in physical spaces remains a central theme among the finalists. Pharma&Go, working with Sensei, has deployed a fully autonomous, 24/7 health shop in Lisbon, while Toolstation is testing new smart locker services at its Battersea location via eLocker. Meanwhile, the partnership between Waitrose and SOLUM represents one of the largest digital shelf labeling initiatives in the UK, now spanning over 200 stores. The eventual winners will be revealed on November 4th at The HAC in London during an event hosted by comedian Aurie Styla.
