The merger combines Orca's trading infrastructure—which has processed over $550 billion in volume since 2021—with Loopscale's credit and vault services, which manage $150 million in deposits. By integrating these capabilities, Formation intends to create a unified ecosystem for asset origination, issuance, and distribution. The protocols for the ORCA and xORCA tokens will remain operational under the new structure.
Traditional finance often struggles to accommodate the rapid financing needs of AI, energy, and defense sectors due to high fixed costs and rigid underwriting standards. Formation aims to reduce this complexity as firms like Apollo project $3 trillion in demand for AI infrastructure through 2028. The company is already collaborating with partners including Figure, Shinhan Asset Management, and Securitize to bring tokenized assets to market. Alongside Truitt, the leadership team includes COO Mary Gooneratne and Chief Strategy & Legal Officer Christopher Montagano.
