The transformation, part of the Holland America Evolution initiative, will conclude in Marseille, France, before the ship heads to Rome for its first post-refit journey. Passengers on the 10-day Adriatic Antiquities cruise will be the first to experience the ship’s updated layout, which includes new stateroom categories such as Solo Verandahs and forward-facing Bridgeview Suites. The ship will also introduce the Grand Dutch Café and a redesigned Ocean Bar, bringing amenities previously reserved for the line’s Pinnacle Class vessels to the Oosterdam.
Following the inaugural Rome-to-Trieste departure, the ship will transition through four additional itineraries. These include a route through the Greek Isles and Istanbul, a Mediterranean crossing to Barcelona, a 13-day cultural voyage to Fort Lauderdale, and a final Caribbean circuit. According to company president Beth Bodensteiner, the project aims to retain the brand's traditional appeal while integrating modern design elements to define a new era for the fleet.
