New Data Suggests Babywearing Recaptures Lost Hours for Parents

Nearly half of parents report that using a baby carrier saves them at least one hour each day, transforming the frantic pace of early parenthood into manageable pockets of productivity. A new national survey from KeaBabies highlights how this hands-free approach helps caregivers balance household chores, work, and essential self-care.

For parents of children under two, the daily routine is often a relentless cycle of soothing, feeding, and multitasking. The challenge is rarely a lack of motivation, but rather the physical limitation of caring for an infant while attempting to complete basic responsibilities. According to the data, 83% of parents estimate that babywearing saves them at least 30 minutes daily, with 47.6% claiming a full hour of reclaimed time.

This newfound freedom is being directed toward a variety of tasks. Over 72% of respondents use the time to prepare family meals, while 54% manage to clear work emails or tackle professional projects. Beyond utility, the practice serves a mental health function: 96% of surveyed parents report lower stress levels when they are able to keep their child close while moving freely. Jane Neo, co-founder of KeaBabies, notes that these small segments of hands-free time turn a chaotic schedule into a more balanced experience, allowing for everything from uninterrupted lunches to a quiet walk outside.
