Toland, who founded Toland Law, LLC, has been licensed to practice in Massachusetts since 2012. The Rising Stars designation is highly selective, awarded to no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in the state through a peer-influenced, research-driven process. His firm’s approach centers on the reality that a criminal conviction often carries severe immigration consequences, meaning a single plea or charge can determine a client's future in the United States.
Raised in a bilingual, bicultural household by a Colombian mother and American father, Toland built his practice to bridge the gap between criminal defense and immigration status. His firm serves clients in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, handling matters ranging from family-based petitions and asylum to deportation defense and the vacating of prior convictions. Before entering private practice, Toland served as an Assistant District Attorney in Worcester County. He currently represents clients across Massachusetts, including in federal courts and before the Board of Immigration Appeals.
