The partnership centers on the pTau217 antibody, a component that has gained significant traction in the scientific community since its initial integration into the Simoa ALZpath pTau217 Assay. To date, the assay has featured in 161 peer-reviewed publications, including a critical 2025 Nature study that validated the viability of large-scale blood testing for Alzheimer’s disease.
By scaling the use of this antibody technology, the companies intend to move beyond existing research tools and address emerging requirements in biomarker biology. The initiative aims to leverage Quanterix’s installed base of Simoa systems to refine methods for disease monitoring and clinical treatment development. For ALZpath, the move serves a strategic goal of embedding its high-performance diagnostic solutions into global clinical workflows, an effort that has previously garnered industry recognition, including a spot on Time Magazine’s Best Inventions list in 2024.
