Cynthia Doussard Moves $235 Million Practice to Cetera

After two decades with Commonwealth Financial Network, advisor Cynthia Doussard has moved her Burlington, Washington-based firm to Cetera’s Summit Financial Networks. The transition follows Commonwealth’s acquisition by LPL Financial, prompting Doussard to seek a new partner capable of maintaining the high-touch, personal service her clients expect.

Doussard Financial, which oversees approximately $235 million in assets under administration, serves a client base heavily concentrated in Northwest Washington’s oil refinery sector. Doussard, who has spent nearly 30 years in the industry, emphasizes a traditional approach to wealth management. Her practice focuses on retirement income planning, including pension and 401(k) rollover guidance, with a business model centered on face-to-face interactions and deep local ties.

Following Commonwealth’s sale, Doussard spent a year evaluating potential broker-dealers. She ultimately chose Cetera after observing peers from her former firm make the same move. She noted that Cetera provides the necessary infrastructure to support her practice while preserving her independence in business decision-making. Tom Halloran, Cetera’s advisor channel leader, cited Doussard’s strong rapport with blue-collar clients as a key factor in her successful tenure, stating that the firm is committed to supporting her ongoing client-service mission.
