The facility integrates technologies from across the Danaher ecosystem, including Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, Cytiva, Genedata, Integrated DNA Technologies, and Molecular Devices. By utilizing a continuous design-make-test-learn loop, the lab automates the creation and verification of molecular tools. This process allows for a projected tenfold increase in annual reagent production, moving from tens to hundreds of units as operations scale.
Julie Sawyer Montgomery, President and CEO of Danaher, described the initiative as a central component of the company’s broader strategy to create smart, AI-ready instrumentation. According to JC Gutierrez-Ramos, the company's Chief Science Officer, the platform is designed to handle repetitive testing cycles, allowing human scientists to focus on high-level strategy and complex challenges. The lab’s robotic infrastructure, developed in collaboration with Automata, is intended to standardize research workflows and improve the predictive quality of experimental data.
