Strongpoint functions as a unified control layer that decouples institutional security protocols from the underlying cryptographic standards of various blockchain networks. This approach allows institutions to manage assets through consistent key-management and audit frameworks, even as networks migrate to new signature schemes to counter quantum threats. By prioritizing crypto-agility, the platform aims to eliminate the need for institutions to rebuild security infrastructure whenever a network undergoes a cryptographic shift.
Alex Pruden, CEO of Project Eleven, noted that legacy custody models were designed for static cryptography, a premise now undermined by the speed of quantum advancement. The Zcash Foundation, led by Executive Director Alex Bornstein, intends to leverage the platform to support shielded ZEC while ensuring the custody architecture respects privacy-preserving design requirements. This collaboration draws on the foundation's expertise in protocol engineering to refine how Strongpoint handles network-specific demands.
Industry fragmentation remains a primary obstacle, as only half of the 20 largest Layer 1 assets have published concrete post-quantum migration roadmaps. These existing plans vary widely, involving at least six different signature schemes and disparate approaches to account migration. Project Eleven, which recently acquired specialized engineering firm Riva Labs, plans a production deployment of Strongpoint in Q4 2026. The company previously secured $26 million in total funding, including a $20 million Series A round led by Castle Island Ventures.
