The transaction includes a performance-based earnout structure, consistent with Radiant’s past acquisition strategy. By absorbing the Dallas-based business, which serves clients in industrial manufacturing, packaging, and building materials, Radiant intends to leverage its proprietary technology platform to scale service offerings. Gary Whitacre, owner of the selling firm, stated that the deal allows his company to refocus on its core business in the Ohio Valley while ensuring continuity for Dallas-based staff and customers.
Jeff Vielhaber will continue to lead the Dallas operations under the Radiant banner. In his expanded role, Vielhaber is tasked with spearheading agent network development for Radiant Road & Rail, reporting directly to Chris Brach, the company’s SVP and General Manager of U.S. brokerage operations. Radiant CEO Bohn Crain noted that the acquisition serves as a growth catalyst for their bi-modal platform, promising to enhance the client experience through access to broader international forwarding and customs brokerage services.
